Priceline Hotel: 5* North I think

Hi. Came over from VMB.

We stayed at Vdara on our last trip in Jan and were really happy with it. Planned a last minute trip with our 13 year old to see Garth Brooks and Shania Twain and as it so happens the dates are sky high! I know most rooms are king bed so we'll try to get two beds or a sofa bed at checkin. I know nothing is guaranteed but that is our plan.

My dates are 5/24 - 5/28

Wouldn't mind staying at Vdara, W/E, Aria, V/P . Someone from VMB alerted me to Hotwire and Priceline Express Deals. Express Deals looks like either the W/E or V/P for $153 and Trump for $144. Is that a correct best guess? There is a 5* South with a casino for $219 which I'm guessing is Aria? Hotwire's cheapest 5* is $184 with these amenities: Resort, FP, Suite, Casino, Fitness, Pool, Rest, Business Center, Internet, Golf, Tennis, Spa, Lots of Handicapped amenities and the other 5* North is $162 and pet friendly with no casino listed so I'm guessing Trump.

I'm thinking Express Deals is the better way to go here plus the extra 5% off.

I will definitely use the links here to bid and will report back the info.

I really don't follow your post, do you want to stay in North or South zone?

If you need any help with a HOTWIRE ID so please list the amenities HOTWIRE associates with the hotel you're looking at and we'll be happy to have a look at this. Post only the amenity names (and not the full descriptions that go along with it) as it will make your post easier for us to read and helps minimize the chance that we miss an amenity when researching your hotel

Same goes for the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals. We need you to list the complete amenity set and guest rating associated with the hotel you're looking at.

Thanx for using boards HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links!

Either one would be fine with me. Just looking for the better deal but if all things are equal, I might be leaning towards North. Although, now all the prices are higher than they were earlier today. :0

Those rates aren't that bad considering 2 out of 4 of your nites are over a weekend.

What is your budget for this trip and is there something in particular that you're looking for? If cost is a concern not sure why you're considering the more expensive HOTWIRE properties as you'll have resort fees as each of those as well (as you will with any 5* hotel in Vegas on the strip).

For the HOTWIRE properties my guess for the first one is the Trump and for the second either the Palazzo or Venetian.

For the PRICELINE EXPRESS properties my guess for the one showing a casino would be the Wynn, Encore, or Veneitian... the one without a Casino is possibly the Trump, and based upon location the other option would be worth the extra $8/nite, imo.

I was just offering HOTWIRE for comparison. Just got off the phone with Aria via Mlife and the price with them is 790.72 for the 4 nights. I know this is South, but the only property 5* in South Strip was $219 a night so I didn't consider it. Basically I need to decide between $790 (inclusive of taxes and fees) for Aria and $788 for a Priceline Hotel (added in the resort fee and 5% discount).

I said in the beginning I'd be happy with North or South 5* and I didn't realize that if I called I'd get a better rate than what the website shows. Now I'm in a quandary.

Would just like to add that if I knew it was W/E I'd do Priceline mainly because we've never stayed there and I like to try out new places. We've stayed at V/P a dozen times. Aria we've never stayed at and it might be more centrally located for either going up strip or down strip for sightseeing with my 13 year old.

Opinions to sway me one way or the other are MOST welcome.

It's not easy to help you when you don't say what you're looking for?

You need to decide for North or South. We can't weed out the best option for you without knowing your ultimate goal.

Let us know and we'll go from there.

Usually the hotel rate quoted by the hotel does NOT include any resort fee, so unless you added it in on your own you might want to double check if that is indeed included at the Aria rate you were quoted, to make sure that you're comparing apples-to-apples.

While you should be prepared for any of the 5* hotels, I think the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal is most likely the Palazzo.

Thank you for the info...I did check and yes the resort fee and taxes are in the total price.

I know it is only your best guess, but what leads you to believe it is the Palazzo and not the Venetian? I'm just curious.

Thank you for closing this thread with your decision.

In the future when PRICELINE / HOTWIRE don't work out for your plans, please check the board's Support Page for your hotel direct purchases where we have links to most of the major hotel chains and online booking agencies, including the Aria.

Hope you enjoyed your stay.

We did but I believe we'll stay at the Vdara next time if the price is close. I like Aria well enough but the clientele that weekend really turned me off. With Vdara being so close, we can have the nice quietness of that hotel and the proximity to the Cosmo and Aria.
