Hotwire Hotel: Question about Vieques Hotel

Hi,

I have a question about a Vieques Hotel on Hotwire with the following amenities:

Pet Friendly

Accessible for the blind

Accessible for the deaf

Accessible path of travel

In-room accessibility

Wheelchair accessible

Accessible bathroom

Handicapped parking

Roll-in shower

4 stars on Tripadvisor

I have a feeling this hotel is the W Vieques Resort and Spa (the "other sites" price matches exactly and their are only a few hotels on the island). [by the way, I had some trouble searching for Vieques--instead I searched 'Fajardo, PR' and this hotel came up. I see that it hasn't been reported.]

I have found this hotel for a 6 day stay in August (Aug. 19-25), with a price of $139.00/night for 6 nights (marked down from $251), and a whopping tax & recovery fee of $521.73, for a total of $1355.73.

My question is the following: this hotel, if it is the W, normally charges a resort fee of $60/night. The Hotwire listing makes no mention of a resort fee at all. Every time I have used Hotwire in the past to stay at a resort charging a fee, it has stated that a resort fee would be charged on the Hotwire listing. It would seem that the high price of the taxes and fees for this particular booking would perhaps somehow include the resort fee--that would explain why the taxes and fees would be so abnormally high. But this is just a theory--I am not sure that this is the case.

If I book this hotel, and no resort fee is mentioned anywhere on the Hotwire site, can I rest assured that the hotel will not charge me one on arrival? Have you ever seen a resort fee incorporated into a the taxes and fees category before?

Please provide a follow-up for your prior Kauai Priceline thread (post in that thread what you decided for that stay), then reply to this thread and we'll be happy to look into the above. Please follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing, even if you chose to book direct, cancel your trip, etc.

Can you please add the dates to your previous Priceline hotel thread so that win can appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.

For this stay, what location are you entering into the search box as i'm getting no results when using 'Vieques, Puerto Rico - (VQS)' or 'Vieques, Puerto Rico'.

I had the same problem--it wouldn't let me search for Vieques. But when I entered Fajardo, Puerto Rico into the search box (as I mentioned in my initial post in this thread), the Vieques hotels came up.

I see this property now but am unable to identify it based upon the amenities shown.

Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite(s) of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite or two in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.
