Hello, this is my first time trying to use PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals.

I am looking at 4 star hotel in Berlin east for 2 nights, June 19 and 20. Can someone help me identify?

It is $70 night. Amenities are

Free Internet

Restaurant

Business center

Fitness center

It is listed as a "guest favorite" with 9.0 out of 10 for guest score.

I searched in list view for 4 stars in that area with those amenities. There were 4 hotels but they were all much more expensive- $120 or more per night. I wasn't sure if express deal would offer that much discount, especially because there is a 5% discount code available now for express deals.

Thanks for your help.

Hello. Thanks for your response. Given that the express deal is $70, would I be likely to get it for less by bidding? What would be a suggested opening bid (no 5% code for bidding though)?

Most of the times can you undercut the price of PRICELINE EXPRESS deals with using the bidding side of PRICELINE

No, the 5% code can't be used if you decide to go with the bidding side.

You have only one free zone to use when bidding 4* for Berlin East. I would start bidding at $50.

Good luck and let us know if you have any further questions before you start bidding.

Thanks for your help. I tried $50 for 4 star east without success. I added the free zone and tried $56, and no success. Maybe will try in 24 hours for $58.

Here is the update:

I waited 24 hours and tried $58 without success. Then added free zone and tried $60. No success again. Both times I was offered the opportunity to re-bid immediately for $71.

I decided to go with the express deal - $70 per night, 4 star, Berlin East. Total price for 2 nights, with 5% discount code was $152.

The reason I decided to go with the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal is any future bids would almost be the same amount as the express deal with 5% discount. The $60 bid (which was rejected) for 2 nights came to a total of $139 with taxes and fees. Since I would have had to raise my bid above $60 next time, I figured it was worth an extra $10 or so to get a well rated hotel with free internet (although I was disappointed to see after learning the hotel that it is only free in public areas). I thought there was always a chance that by bidding I could end up with a different hotel that wasn't rated so highly.

The hotel is Marriott Courtyard Berlin City Center. Best price for those dates I found was $238, so seems like a pretty good deal. Location looks good, and reviews seem very positive. I'm happy with the results.

Thanks for your help and I look forward to using the forum for help again.
