Santi Posted May 19, 2013 Author Report Posted May 19, 2013 They even got the same tripadvisor rates (hotwire.com: 3,5 on TA)Thanks, I'm using the links..I've read some times, that a person, if finding a good offer on HOTWIRE, try to get this hotel by bidding on PRICELINE... Any chances on this? Advice?
AaronJB Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 The two services have different inventory and there is no way to bid for a specific hotel via PRICELINE. If you bid for a certain star rating and zone, you have to be willing to accept any hotel at that star rating in that zone.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Santi Posted May 21, 2013 Author Report Posted May 21, 2013 I really appreciate your help and this great forum!I'm getting closer..Any guess on this hotel?Notting Hill / Bayswater / Paddington, 2,5*Facilities: Free Internet, High Speed internet.Gets 4,5 rating on TripAdvisor, and 300+ reviews...but no chance of identifying the hotel on the website...Any idea? It doesn't seem to be listed, but maybe you have better searching skills on tripadvisor :)and:Notting Hill / Bayswater / Paddington, 3,5* Free Internet <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Smoke Free Rooms Guest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. Laundry Facilities (self-service) <amenity names only please... not descriptions> High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.TA: 400+ reviews, 3,5 rating.London Hyde Park Hotel by Doubletree?Thx.
yellowdog Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 I'm getting closer..what is it that you're looking for? We have now ID'd several hotels for you and this is a very time consuming process. We're happy to help you but please only ask for hotels that fits your criteria. Are you willing to lock-in a non-refundable reservation for 4 months ahead of your stay? Hotels/prices offered now may not be the ones available once you're ready to commit.Let us know your thoughts around this so maybe we can help you on the way.Thanx for using boards HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links :) Yellowdog.
Santi Posted May 21, 2013 Author Report Posted May 21, 2013 Sorry for asking for so many IDs...Yes, i want to book in the next days, so my plan was to identify this two i asked for and then book it :)I've no problem to book a non-refundable so early, as i never had any problems doing it...Thx, Santi.

thereuare Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 Please use for all your searches going forward. What criteria is it exactly that you're looking for from this stay? What didn't you like about the previous hotels above? You're now consider 2.5* and 4* hotels which are a very different experience, especially in Europe where ratings are a bit more 'generous' then their US counterparts. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Santi Posted July 10, 2013 Author Report Posted July 10, 2013 hmm, well I never used hotwire or priceline before, so I'm just interested in using it soon and don't want to make a mistake.by the way, i'm european, and because of a job opportunity I couldn't book it some weeks ago....but, now I got a better understanding of the systems, reading your forum as well, and hope to get a hotel soon, because looking so much for one is exhausting too :)Just thought that this one on PRICELINE looks a lot cheaper than many on HOTWIRE...
thereuare Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Please only ask for hotel identifications once you're ready to commit to a purchase. Researching hotels can be a time consuming process and the hotels that are currently offered may not be the ones that are offered once you're ready to move forward. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
