Look for "nearby metropolitan areas"

This may be well known, but it got me. I have been using priceline for quite some time, but always in smaller cities (like SLC, or Ashville NC, etc) or in the heart of large cities, like Atlanta or Boston.

So the neighborhood I wanted was always there.

Recently, I booked a room in Norcross GA, which is outside of Atlanta. I wanted Duluth, but it was not one of the neighborhoods. So I actually thought about using a traditional (Expedia, travelociy, etc) to get a specific hotel. Then decided to just go ahead with Norcross through PL.

Well, what I did not see, was that PL listed several neighborhoods, then had the map, with said neighborhoods shown, but then under that, and off my screen (I run 1280*1024), was "nearby metropolitan areas".

Duluth is a suburb of Atlanta, not a metro area. (trust me, I grew up out there), but lo and behold, that is where Priceline had it listed. Too late for me.

The moral of the story is to check all areas, perhaps even searching on the particular city by name. My downfall was knowing too much!!!! I live in ATL, so do not consider Duluth anything other than part of ATL. Well, actually I am in another suburb of ATL, which for all I know is a "metro" area according to priceline!!!
