Michael.Bernstein Posted April 28, 2013 Author Report Posted April 28, 2013 Have clicked on the links. If my memory serves me properly, there is a relatively new offering, as a 4.5 star north strip?
yellowdog Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 Michael.BernsteinSorry to say that I don't know any hotel that is currently rated 4.5* for this zone. And the board don't have any 4.5* hotel reported for this zone.Let us know how we can help you further with your stay.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
thereuare Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 I'm not sure of this 4.5* property either, but do note that Caesars is believed to currently be 4* rated by PRICELINE.If you do decide to bid on PRICELINE for this stay, you can received any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you select... are you willing to accept any hotel in the zone rated 4* or higher OR is Caesars the only property you're willing to accept? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Michael.Bernstein Posted April 29, 2013 Author Report Posted April 29, 2013 Well I am fairly certain the other hotels north strip 4* are TI and Mirage. So I suppose that could be acceptable. I will be looking to bid within the next day or two and will keep you all posted.

Michael.Bernstein Posted May 3, 2013 Author Report Posted May 3, 2013 I am ready to go, concerned about overpaying. What are your thoughts on bidding strategy? I would need to ensure that I don't add a zone that has another 4.5 star hotel. I would really love to be Caesars as my girlfriend has dreamed of staying there, FYI side note on this trip I plan to propose, there are some nice spots in that hotel!
thereuare Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 I am ready to go, concerned about overpaying. What are your thoughts on bidding strategy? What is your maximum bid for this trip? Use MAPS and HOTELS.com and search '3 miles from Las Vegas Strip', then UNcheck anything less then 4* and sort by price... what is the best rate you're able to find for a hotel within the Strip North zone (assuming that is the only zone you're bidding). How much of a discount would you need from this rate to make an opaque purchase worthwhile?I would need to ensure that I don't add a zone that has another 4.5 star hotel.Or a zone that has 5* hotels... the star rating you select with PRICELINE is the minimum that you're willing to accept, so if a zone has 5* hotel but not 4.5*, it is still NOT a re-bid zone since your 4* (or 4.5*) bid could be upgraded to the higher rated 5* property. Which star rating is it that you'd like to bid for?I would really love to be Caesars as my girlfriend has dreamed of staying there, FYI side note on this trip I plan to propose, there are some nice spots in that hotel! While it may be her dream, imo it's not as nice as the higher end MGM properties OR most of the 5* hotels on the strip. If your budget is in the previously mentioned ~$126 area i think you can do better than Caesar's and i would try for a 5* property, but it's your trip so so you'll have to decide what it is that you most want to try for.For a proposal it my be cliche but i like the Bellagio Fountains or i suspect the top of the Eiffel Tower would be nice as well.Let us know your thoughts and you'd you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click each of these previous links before replying. Michael.Bernstein Posted May 3, 2013 Author Report Posted May 3, 2013 Any of the 5* star North Properties would work too, I have stayed at 3/4 excluding the Venetian so any would be totally acceptable. I dunno, she's mentioned Caesars many times lately. But it's not like any of those are considered bad exactly. So would like to bid on the 4.5* May 31-June 3rd, what are my best choices of action?
thereuare Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 Given that Caesars is presumed to be 4*, and any 4.5* hotel in this zone is 'unknown', i'm not sure why you would bid the 4.5* level (and potentially get something unexpected and possibly undesirable), but as you have ELEVEN re-bid zones at both the 4.5* and 5* levels, i'll write the suggested strategy based upon the 4.5* level and you can adjust accordingly if you want to only bid 5* (if bidding 4* the strategy will need to be adjusted since at the 4* level there are only FOUR re-bid zones available). If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. So assuming you're bidding 4.5*, Strip North zone only, with a maximum bid if $130(?? although rates are a little higher now then when i had checked last nite) i would bid as follows:Select 4.5* Strip North...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130Given the higher rates i'm currently seeing vs. when i searched last nite i think $130 will likely fall short, but let's start there and we'll revise and discussion options should the above fail.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
