Priceline Hotel: 4* Hollywood or Downtown Bidding Help

First, thanks for being a great resource. I've read through a couple of the posts, including the re-bidding FAQ, but I'm not getting much traction on a 4* in either Hollywood or Downtown LA. So far after two days I've bid it up to $120 without a bite. Obviously I'm starting too low (because eh, why not), but how far I have no idea. Do you guys mind lending a hand here and suggesting a much more efficient strategy/starting price?

Thanks!

Prices are high for your dates, DT is very high so Hollywood looks like your best bet with current prices. But you should try the zones you're willing to stay in.

We need to know your max budget/night before tax/fee's to help you with a strategy.

And DT and Hollywood are your only preferred zones?

Let us know and we'll go from there.

I'd guess you're likely looking in the $150-$175 area for a 4* hotel for these dates.

You may also want to consider looking at the Beverly Hills-West Hollywood zone if that would also work for your needs.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Thanks. BV/WH would also work for me, I'll give that a shot. I don't have a specific target in mind other than getting the cheapest place possible. That said, my preference is to keep it under $125 if possible, $150 at the most. I realize I may be a bit too aggressive if my schedule throws high rates in these zones.

When bidding the 4* level in Los Angeles you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

I would try as follows, which takes into consideration your previously rejected bids:

Select 4* Beverly Hills...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...

Select 4* Beverly Hills and Downtown...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...
