bystander Posted April 25, 2013 Report Posted April 25, 2013 Trip plan is for the weekend, April 26~28. The listed prices and minimum Express Deals offers($89 for 3-star) are much higher for a typical Montreal hotels during shoulder season. Normally, most airport hotel rates were cheap on weekends, as fewer business travelers need them. Yet, they are also high for the weekend. There are must be some back-to-back big conventions going on here. About 2 weeks ago, the search began. First a few attempts with entire weekend period were not successful. From last weekend, starting bid was around low $60s, and expanding neighborhoods were not helpful. Throughout the week, increasing prices to high $70s came no avail. Also, prices seem inching up as check-in date closing. Obviously, hotels were utilizing yield management methods. With one day before or date of check-in date, hotels loses pricing power as chances of unsold become more of reality. Finally today, booking separately is tried and worked with $71. Extended for 2nd night of same rate is accepted. The rate is very reasonable for the hotel quality and location. Happy bidding!!
