I'm writing this review from this hotel as I complete my one-night stay. My winning bid was $38.

This hotel is conveniently located in Lake Oswego just seconds from the I-5 and down the block from the Crowne Plaza Lake Oswego which can be easily seen on the highway. Nearby there is an Applebees, Olive Garden, and a restaurant recommended by the front desk - Stanfords. Washington Square Mall is just a few exits away on highway 217. I had never been to Lake Oswego before and noticed that there must be at least 2 dozen churches in Lake Oswego and everybody seemed very friendly.

I arrived at about 5:00pm and had no problems at check-in. I had called in advance and requested a non-smoking room and I was given room 1814, which fit the bill. There was no mention of Priceline. The front desk staff was extremely friendly - to the point of being a bit strange. She gave me a chocolate cookie with Reeses Pieces - absolutely delicious! In the lobby there is coffee, tea, and juices (choice of apple, orange, or cranberry) available 24 hours a day.

The room had the typical Residence Inn full kitchen, sleeper sofa, fireplace (with free log), queen bed, small work desk with free wired Internet, and a large selection of television channels. The bathroom had a clean tub and toilet with the sink outside of the bathroom. There was shampoo by Physique and a hair dryer.

In the morning, there was a full breakfast in the lobby.

The only minor glitches with my stay were 1) the walls and ceiling were paper thin, as I could hear the family upstairs showering, walking, talking etc. 2) the hotel is pet friendly, so a few small dogs were yapping in the early morning, and 3) I got to the breakfast buffet at 8:30am (it is advertised to run until 9:00am) and there were no eggs or breakfast sausages where they were supposed to be. I asked the attendant responsible for the breakfast if there would be more food put out and she rudely said "no". I then had to go to the front desk and ask if they had any more breakfast, to which yet another friendly (to the point of odd) front desk staff said "yes". I then saw the attendant begrudgingly make some more eggs while cursing under her breath.

I would gladly stay again.

I have stayed at this facility a number of times. My only disappointment was one room where the Internet service was kaput.

My advice at dealing with noise is to ask for an upstairs room at the back of facility.

To respond to the overly/strangely friendly comment, I would say that the help at this facility is genuinely friendly. The bread and butter of Residence Inn is the returning traveler. If you don't like friendly and efficient help, I would suggest staying somewhere else.

If you want to take full advantage of the kitchen in room, there is a Trader Joe two blocks further down the street. While there are a number of restaurants in walking distance, none are what I would call (by Priceline standards) 3* dining.

All in all, a very decent lodging facility.
