AaronJB Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please provide the full list of amenities showing with each listing and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID the listing. Are you familiar with the area? Do you need to be right by Skokie/Evanston? The area a bit further North (Northbrook/Deerfield) is sometimes a bit cheaper and has more hotels.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Eurojazz Posted April 23, 2013 Author Report Posted April 23, 2013 Hi AaronJB,Wondering if the clues I posted provided enough info for you to identify the 2 hotwire hotels. Thanks for your help!
AaronJB Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 Please post a new thread for the 7/28-30 stay; we'll use this thread for the 7/20-24 stay. The 3.5* would highly likely be the Doubletree Skokie. The 3* has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board; it may be something along the lines of the Best Western Morton Grove.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Eurojazz Posted April 27, 2013 Author Report Posted April 27, 2013 Trying to ID HOTWIRE hotel for the Evanston/Skokie/Niles region which comes up at 2&1/2*. Looking at the list, there are no hotels that are supposed to be in this ranking. Any ideas of which hotel this could be?Dates ares:7/20 to 7/24Full Amenities:Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) High-Speed Internet Access In-room accessibility Price$84 a nightThanks guys!
AaronJB Posted April 27, 2013 Report Posted April 27, 2013 This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd guess the Rodeway Inn Skokie may be a possibility. For not much more, I'd go with the possible Doubletree, which is just up the street. Unfortunately, the Orrington does not appear to be showing on HOTWIRE - it has been quite some time since it was last reported to the board. If you are driving, the Skokie hotels at least do not charge parking, as the Evanston hotels do.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Eurojazz Posted April 28, 2013 Author Report Posted April 28, 2013 Thanks so much for your expertise Aaron JB!
AaronJB Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 Happy to help! :)Unfortunately, the Evanston hotels are not seen that often as wins - the Skokie hotels (Doubletree, Holiday Inn) are more often seen. The Doubletree isn't a bad hotel and if the pics are any indication, it looks like they updated it a little recently. If you need to be in Evanston and/or at the Orrington, it's really not a bad drive from Skokie to Evanston and you can park in one of the Evanston city lots. My only recommendation would be to not bid 3* in the Skokie-Niles-Evanston zone on PRICELINE given the possibility of the Holiday Inn North Shore, which is not a particularly nice Holiday Inn property. You may be able to get a hotel further North (Northbrook, Glenview) for moderately cheaper (there's a 4* in Northbrook for $80), but it would also be a bit further out.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Eurojazz Posted April 28, 2013 Author Report Posted April 28, 2013 Hi AaronJB,I hear you about everything, thank you for your precious insight. I won't have a car unfortunately and need to be in Evanston.I'm also under the impression that the only 3&1/2* property on PRICELINE is the Doubletree as the Orrington falls under the 3*, is that correct? It totally would blow if I endend up @ that Holiday Inn in Skokie for 3*, I've been there, it's pretty pathetic and definitely not a 3*!
AaronJB Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 What would your desired budget be per night for this stay? I'd be happy to look around and see what options are available.Oddly, the Orrington is at the 3* level, while the Doubletree appears to be the only 3.5*. The Holiday Inn is also 3*. There may be others not yet reported to the board at the 3* level.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
