thertzler1 Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 Hello All. I am very confused. There is a hotel on Hotwire which is 5 star with 4.5 recommended on Trip advisor in the La Defense area of paris. Yet on trip advisor they show no 5 star hotels in this area, only a 4 star (Evergreen Laurel) which is 3.5 recommendation on Trip Advisor. Could there be that much of a discrepency between what they call 5 star and what they show as the trip advisor rating???Thanks!todd

Romelle Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 La Defense is so far out you have to name it as a city in Tripadvisor. Then you can find several 5* hotels.I've stayed out there, and the metro ride is actually pretty quick for getting into the city. When you in Hotwire, two other possible areas of info:1 - Hover over that pinkish hotel drawing where it says "See hotels in this class". It will show you some names of hotels that are at least similar to what you might get.2 - Switch from the red hot Rates to the blue More Hotels (tabs at the top). There actually is a 5* La Defense named hotel there with the 4.5 Trip Advisor rating, and its retail rates. Again, no guarantee this will be the hotel you get, but at least you can see one named possibility.Romelle
