SarahAnne Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 Hi All,I'm completely new to Priceline and completely terrified I'm going to end up with a terrible place. The details:Friday May 17 to Monday May 20thWant to see the Navy Pier, cubs game, magnificent miles, shopping, deep dish pizza and anything else a person should see in Chicago.Any ideas of location and what I should be bidding for a 4 star??Thanks!!
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The problem with these date/s unfortunately is that one of the biggest conventions of the year is taking place on 5/18-21 and rates are very high. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
SarahAnne Posted April 23, 2013 Author Report Posted April 23, 2013 Just my luck! I was hoping to keep it under 150.
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 Unfortunately, I think at this point a 4* is probably going to run $275-300. On Expedia, many hotels in the city at all star levels are completely sold out. Are you driving or flying in?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

SarahAnne Posted April 26, 2013 Author Report Posted April 26, 2013 Okay, new dates.May 24-27th. Travelling in by train.I tried 4* at 100, 105 and 110.Any other thoughts? And why do I have to change the criteria for each bid. I'm not willing to go below 4.
SarahAnne Posted April 26, 2013 Author Report Posted April 26, 2013 Okay I got the Palmer Hotel 4* - 120.00is that a good deal?
thereuare Posted April 26, 2013 Report Posted April 26, 2013 Congratulations on your success! Hope you're pleased with the results and this property will work well for your plans... regular retail rates are over $175+ per nit so this would seem like a decent deal.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
