nikib
I have been trying for a couple of weeks now to get 4 nights (26th to 30th September) at a 4* hotel in Montreal, but even if I use the 3 attempts with other areas which dont have 4* hotels, my bids are rejected up to $100.Am I being unrealistic? What would be a "good price" for these dates? It doesnt look like there are any major conventions or concerts on that week, so I thought I could get a bargain. With time running out until we are due to leave for Canada, what should I do?ThanksNiki Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Your bids are likely just a bit too low.You currently have 4 re-bid zones available (confirm or ask for help if you're unsure) and if you're willing to bid just a little more this is what i woudl suggest:Select 4* Montreal...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $102, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $107, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $112, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $115.I believe you will greatly increase your chances if you're will to bid as high as the above. policyguy
Odd... I know Montreal very well and there's nothing special event wise about those dates. At those inflated bids on priceline, and if you start straying into the $115 USD region, you might wish to book with the 4* Loews Hotel Vogue directly, they have a buy three nights at $200 CDN ($169 USD) and get a fourth free for an average nightly rate of $126 USD (plus usual federal and provincial taxes and hotel room levies). At that price you may pay a bit more than you would on priceline, but you get a superior hotel (believe me) and avoid the risk of getting the 4* Montreal Omni which has been in the midst of a protracted labour dispute, and seen a noticeable decline in the level of services provided.
