Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC may 20-23 bidding advice please

hi guys! this is my first time going to NYC and bidding at priceline. It'd be awesome if any of you could help me with a walk-through or strategy.

My boyfriend and I are going to NYC from May 20-23 (so 3 nights in total).

Preferably a 4* hotel in central park south, midtown e/w, or soho.

looking at $160-$200 max.

if this is impossible, 3.5* is acceptable as well.

how should I bid in order to get a good deal?? (a step-by-step guide will be perfect!)
