My wife an I are going to Las Vegas May 17 to 20th with two other couples. We need 3 rooms and are looking for a 5 star in the north strip. We are willing to stay in the Mirage which is a 4 star but we do not want to stay at TI. Looking to spend max $140 on the 5 stars and under $100 for Mirage. If we need to use hotwire for Mirage or best deals on priceline we are completely willing to do that as well. do you think this is realistic? Any suggestions would be great.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

So you need 3 room for 6 adults?

You can't use PRICELINE bidding for Mirage since TI is also rated 4* in the North zone.

I took a quick look at HOTWIRE for your dates and they don't show any inventory for 4* in the North zone when searching for 3 room for 6 adults.

So for the moment is bidding 5* with PRICELINE in the North zone your only option since you don't want to stay at TI.

Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there.

Thank you for your response.

Yes we need 3 rooms and there are 6 adults.

We are willing to stay in the south strip but my worry is that I will get Vdara which does not have a Casino in the 5 star range. I don't know if the Aria casino is really close to the Vdara or if they are half connected because if that is the case then I am sure we could stay at the Vdara.

As for 4 stars in the South there are just too many crappy 4 stars to gamble on bidding. we would like to stay away from Monte Carlo, MGM, Paris. Sorry I completely realize we are being very picky.

Yes 5* South is acceptable but we would like to avoid Vdara unless is is connected to Aria in a way that the Casino is fairly close.

Thank you for your help.

At current prices my guess is that a 5* hotel is going to be out of your $120 budget, so you have to make a decision:

1) bid 5* Strip North and Strip South and should you land the Vdara just be happy with the good deal on a hotel (hotel direct rates are $300+ at the moment). The Vdara is not directly connected to the Aria, but in my opinion, it is 'close'.

2) exclude Strip South from your 5* bidding

Let us know if you want to try for a 5* first, including or excluding Strip South... or if you want to begin by bidding 4* for the Strip North zone only.

I thought your 5* budget was $120 but re-reading this thread i see it is $140, which helps a little but may still fall short.

I won the Venetian for $170 a night for 05/17/13 to 05/20/13. this is by far one of the worst weekends to find a deal. I called a few of the hotels and they said the occupancy was way up because there was a bunch of conventions in town. So this is a good deal.
