Hey guys! I want to try and bid for the first time so i figured i'd ask for you're help :)

I need a hotel in nyc for 4 nights, 4-8/9. The areas i'm interested in are: Midtown East, Midtown West and Times Square.

I really just want a clean hotel (obviously with private bathroom :)) in a safe area.

Do you think its possible to find a hotel 3*-4* for 160-180 per night during that time?

Thank you!

I think that the high end of the $160-$180 range puts you in the right ballpark.

To begin bidding, did you want to first try for a 4* up to your limit, then if rejected try up to your limit at the 3.5*, then at the 3*... OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this trip?

Also, note that at 3.5* and below in the MTE zone some hotels can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway, would this be an acceptable outcome?

So i tried bidding a few times today with no luck :(

I tried 170$-185$ for a 4* hotel and got nothing. Also tried 170$ for 3.5$ and got nothing.

I prefer 4* hotel, but i don't want to go above 190-200$ per night. oh and i definitely need a subway close by.

Do you think my budget is too low for this time of year?

And again thank you for your help :)

HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the MTE zone for your complete stay at $209/nite if that if you want to get this done and are willing to stretch your budget just a bit:

Pet Friendly

Fitness

Restaurant

Business

Hi-Speed Internet

Tennis

Blind Accessible

Deaf Accessible

Travel Accessible

Room Accessible

Bathroom Accessible

Handicapped Parking

Roll-in Shower

... my guess for this one would be the InterContinental Barclay.

Alternately is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? It looks like you can get a 4* hotel for 9/4-9/6 and another hotel for 9/6-9/8, both for just under $200/nite, but this would involved needing to change hotels mid-stay.

Your thoughts?
