cntrfieldsmom Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Anyone have an idea why this hotel isn't coming up anymore?
shammes53 Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Bidding for a 4* is still available in that zone, has to be the Sofitel. Have you tried to bid for it yourself or just wondering because it hasn't been reported in a long time.
cntrfieldsmom Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 I've tried, but also haven't seen it come up. It used to come up regularly at about $50.
thereuare Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 What are the date(s) of your stay and the amount that you bid? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cntrfieldsmom Posted September 11, 2005 Author Report Posted September 11, 2005 I tried for a friend, 1 night Oct. 1 up to $60. Maybe they've increased the "magic number"?
shammes53 Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 It would appear that way, rates look higher (on their website) than they use to be. Best rate for that night is $109, always seemed to be under $100 before.
cntrfieldsmom Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 We tried again today (through savingsbarn). The rate had dropped to 99.00 so expected success, but not so. Bid up to 51.00. I wonder if they are still participating in priceline?
Lizard Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 We're planning a trip to Minneapolis next month and were going to bid 4 star near MOA to get the Sofitel. I'll report back what happens. I believe the rate is $99.00 for Friday and $189.00 for Saturday on the dates we're looking at.Another interesting note, if you use Priceline's "Shop and Compare" option, it comes up with a $99.00 4 star hotel in SW Minneapolis, but when you click on the link, it disappears. Very interesting....
cntrfieldsmom Posted September 28, 2005 Author Report Posted September 28, 2005 an update. I bid 3 times up to $60 and no luck. I did get the Sofitel to come up under the shop and compare with a $99 rate. Hate to see them go it's a great hotel.
Caligal Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 We have stayed at Hotel Sofitel many times thru Priceline and it is now in the Airport/MOA Area. The last time I got this hotel was in late July and I had to bid $75 to get it. I used to get it for between $65 and $70. They have remodeled all the rooms and perhaps this is why their Priceline bids must be higher to get this hotel.
