kornbread Posted April 15, 2013 Author Report Posted April 15, 2013 I'm looking at a listing on Hotwire (used the forums links) and I'm seeing a pretty sweet deal. July 21-26 Strip South Area 5* 85% recommendedAmenities:Free Parking Fitness Center Business Center Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower The page doesn't say anything about a resort fee. Does that mean that there isn't one? If so, is it guaranteed to not have one?
thereuare Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!Based upon your guesses i assume this property is located in the Strip South zone? Please also include the room rate per nite in your post. The Tropicana Hotel and Casino has previously been seen with this amenity set so that would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.PS- you have another Hotwire Las Vegas thread for about 10 days after this one... will you be heading to Vegas on both sets of dates OR are your dates flexible and/or not yet firm? thereuare Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 What zone is this property located in?Will you be in Vegas for both the dates above as well as the dates in this hotwire hotel thread... or is this one trip and you're not yet sure of the dates? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. kornbread Posted April 16, 2013 Author Report Posted April 16, 2013 The hotel is listed in the Strip South area. I'll only be going on one of the dates. I'm just playing around with the dates to see what kind of deals I can get.
AaronJB Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 The issue with looking at multiple date/s is that if you pick one of these date/s specifically you may see different option/s versus looking for all date/s together.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 I'll only be going on one of the dates.Since this is only one trip please keep all posts for this one stay in the same thread.Thanks. kornbread Posted April 16, 2013 Author Report Posted April 16, 2013 Will do in the future. I'll abandon that other post, you can delete it if you like.OK, so we narrowed down our dates to July 13-17th. We are planing a 4 night stay in 2 rooms are looking at 4 and 5 star hotels on the strip. We don't really have a preference which hotel we stay in, we just want it to be nice, and to be a good deal. There are 2 that I'm looking at:Hotel 15*$89 per nightSouth Strip AreaNo resort fee listed85% recommendedAmenitiesFree Parking Pet friendly Casino Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Should I plan on paying a resort fee even if one isn't listed? I was hoping to try to ID this hotel to see if they do in fact charge a resort fee. If so, we will probably go with a 4* to save a bit of cash.Hotel 24*$52 per nightSouth Strip Area$20 Resort Fee80% recommendedAmenitiesResortFree ParkingCasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterGolf NearbyAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessibleAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showerI'm trying to figure out which one this is to ensure that we will enjoy it.Thanks for your help. This forum is awesome.
thereuare Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Thanks for the compliments on BetterBidding! :)Best guess for the first property would the Cosmopolitan which as of (i think) the first of the year has started to charge a resort fee but i don't believe that HOTWIRE has updated the listing to reflect this. I don't know of anyone that has questioned this yet so i don't know if if the Cosmopolitan would waive it, HOTWIRE will refund it (or issue hot dollars which is like their gift certificate), or if neither would budget. While i think a refund/waive/credit of the resort fee is possible, it may be a tough fight since it doesn't say "no resort fee"... it just doesn't list one and they make no promises that they will list every fee possible. My best guess for the second property would be the Monte Carlo. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
