Kozachka Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 I am trying to book a nice hotel room for 2 people in downtown Chicago for May 16-19, 2013. My Hotwire search came up with the following 3 acceptable options. Can you please help me ID them? thereuare Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 The first property would appear to be the W Chicago Lakeshore and that would be my best guess for this one. However, for the other two listings i'm not currently seeing either of these properties offered when searching HOTWIRE for your dates... are you still seeing the above on your own search? If so, are you searching HOTWIRE for more than one room or for more than the default 2adults/0children? Your stay is next month in May, correct? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! (please click each of these previous links before replying)PS- please also follow-up your previous Hotwire South Lake Tahoe thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip, even if you didn't use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, canceled the trip, booked direct, etc. Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 These date/s are unfortunately busy due to the major National Restaurant Association convention during this period. The first night is actually much more reasonable, it's the second two nights that are much more expensive and have limited availability. I'm also not seeing the second two listings, and agree the first would be a possible new amenity set for the W.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Kozachka Posted April 15, 2013 Author Report Posted April 15, 2013 You were right on both counts - the other two hotels disappeared while I waited for help IDing them, so I decided to go ahead and grab the remaining 4* hotel, which as you correctly predicted turned out to be W Chicago Lakeshore. Not my top pick, but given the availability and prices because of the convention and what not, I am satisfied.Once again facilities listed for it were as following:Pet friendlyIndoor pool(s)Fitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessSpa Services
AaronJB Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Congrats on your success. :)Nice deal during a very busy period. I'd suggest asking for a higher floor - while lake view is a paid upgrade, if you are on a higher floor looking the other way, you may get at least a nice partial city view.Let us know if you have any city questions.Thank you for letting us know about the change in amenity set for this HOTWIRE property so that we can update the site's Hotwire Hotel List.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
Kozachka Posted April 15, 2013 Author Report Posted April 15, 2013 Thank you for the suggestion. I most definitely will ask for a higher floor. Would you happen to know how much the lake view upgrade is? I used to live on LSD and really miss waking up to the breeze from lake Michigan. Also, what blues club would you recommend - Buddy Guy's Legend, Blue Chicago or House of Blues? I've been to all three, but it's been a while.I did use HOTWIRE links from this site both for the search and to book this room as a way to thank you guys for maintaining it and allowing us to enjoy the good deals with no fear.
