FLMediaGuy Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 This is my first posting and I've never used Hotwire, but I have used Priceline. I'm trying to find an upscale hotel/resort close to Disney for 5/2/13-5/4/13 and was looking on Hotwire's express deals and came across a deal for a 4* hotel in the Lake Buena Vista/Downtown Disney area for $91. It has a 90% customer rating and said other sites list it at $229 (I think). Here's the amenities:- Resort- Free Parking- Fitness Center- Pool(s)- Restaurant(s)- High Speed Internet Access- Accessibility for blind- Accessibility for deaf- Accessible path of travel- Accessible bathroom- Handicapped parking- Roll-in showerTHANKS for the help!
FLMediaGuy Posted April 15, 2013 Author Report Posted April 15, 2013 I'm looking for a great resort hotel (4-4.5*) in the Lake Buena Vista/Downtown Disney area 5/2/13-5/4/13. My question is this... in the range of hotel I am wanting to bid on, there is a very big price difference (as low as about $89 - $300+). Priceline has some express deals for a 4* at about $98. If I do a name your own price and bid higher, say $110, do I run the risk of paying more for a room than I could have gotten for less?? Or will they try to give me a better hotel/resort than the lower priced 4*s?Thanks!
thereuare Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.Regarding getting a 'better' hotel in the zone by bidding more than you likely need to, it's not recommended as you could receive the same hotel that you would have received at a lower bid price and simply ended up overbidding, as discussed in detail in this Don't Bid Higher For a Specific Hotel. In this instance i would either user HOTWIRE and choose a hotel with a high TA rating (if shown) or use PRICELINE EXPRESS and take something that has high user reviews. My guess is that the HOTWIRE property above may be a new amenity set for the Caribe Royale Resorts Suite and Villas. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
