thereuare Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! This is an expensive nite in NYC (seems like the whole second half of September is expensive) and i'm doubtful you'll find success at $180 or below based upon current prices. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please ask for help before proceeding. If you want to try i would bid as follows:Select 4* MTW...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected clsoe browser adn re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected clsoe browser adn re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected clsoe browser adn re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected clsoe browser adn re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected clsoe browser adn re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. goldswoop Posted September 9, 2005 Author Report Posted September 9, 2005 Went $205 @ 4* MWT, MTE, UM/CPE....no luck. Keep going up in $, head downtown, or drop a star? Price and comfort matter, location not so important.- Will be at Lincoln Center. Thanks
thereuare Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 If it were me i would likely add downtown and then drop a star... then increase price if both of those fail. I have a hard time paying $200+ for a hotel room and would sooner give up convenience (to an extent) to get a better value, but that's me.Let us know how you want to play it and we'll suggest a strategy based upon your own thoughts. goldswoop Posted September 13, 2005 Author Report Posted September 13, 2005 Squeeked into the paris Hilton on 6th for $195. For being just a couple days away, I'm happy. - Need something 4* for 09/30- 10/02 went as high as $160 again @ MTW/MTE/UM. Any suggestions?
thereuare Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Was the Hilton a priceline win or did you book direct (or thru some other service?) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
goldswoop Posted September 13, 2005 Author Report Posted September 13, 2005 Priceline. Was my final bid @ 4* with all of midtown and downtown marked off. Again, happy. Strange though, I would think this is a UM zone and went as high as $205 there the other day. ??
thereuare Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 If you look at Priceline's map, the Hilton New York (which is on 6th Ave so i'm assuming that is the one you received) is in Priceline's MTW zone.Do you recall the highest rejected bid (which included the MTW zone) prior to your $195 acceptance? Please start a NEW TOPIC for the remainder of your stay so that we can keep the board organized and continue with the format of one win per thread and reflect the wins in the topic titles.Thanks. goldswoop Posted September 13, 2005 Author Report Posted September 13, 2005 Last rejected was $190. Thanks for all the help!
