Set out to obtain a 5* hotel in Paris for my upcoming trip. I was watching Hotwire and Priceline express deals and seeing nothing below $200 for my dates until yesterday. On Priceline Express a 5* hotel appeared on my tablet for $142 per night with three listed amenities: Restaurant, Fitness Center and Business Center with Guest Score rated 7.0 or higher. This same deal did not appear on my desktop or the Priceline mobile app, only on my tablet. After some research I felt confident this hotel was likely the Renaissance Paris Hotel Le Parc Trocadero. I then began bidding on Priceline to see if I could get it for less as I also had $5 bonus cash to use. Began bidding at $100 (+ $5 bonus cash) for 5* in Champs Elysees - Arc De Triomphe zone, then added Opera Quarter West and Opera Quarter East as target 5* zones in case I really got lucky. Using all three zones I increased my bid each time for a 5* by $2 using free re-bid zones until I hit it at $122 (+$5 bonus cash). Here are the details:
