PupManS Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Hi- I could use some help with a bidding strategy. I'm heading to San Fran next weekend on a last-minute kind of thing.1. Would prefer USE/USW, although any area in the city core would be fine. (IE not airport, San Mateo, etc)2. Would prefer 4* although boutique usually works out well for me.3. 9/16-9/184. Me and my girlfriend, so small rooms are ok. 5. Can go up to $160 per night, although posted rates are nuts right now....a lot of 250 and up.Thanks!Phillip
thereuare Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! At the 4* level you have four re-bid zones available (if you're not sure of your re-bid zones please ask for help before proceeding).Select 4* USW...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130.Select 4* USE...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130.Select 4* USE and USW...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160.You can then repeat the above, substituting Boutique for 4*. Hotwire only shows one hotel available for these dates (a 3* at $181 so i think this is going to be a very tough win)If the above fails let know exactly which other zones you're willing to bid and we'll suggest a strategy including those alternate zones. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
PupManS Posted September 12, 2005 Author Report Posted September 12, 2005 Unfortunatly, none of the bidding strategies below worked for me.I have reserved a cancellable place, and I think I might try again on Wednesday as I figure some of these conventioneers will probably cancel by then. Thanks for your help anyhow!Phillip
