roxanne207 Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 I only used HOTWIRE one on a trip to San Antonio this winter, but it turned out great. I watched for a while since I wasn't sure of the dates. It seemed like there were good offers about 8wks out, then everything disappeared for a while, and then about 2wks before the action went back up. Is it the same for all cities? I may not be able to book until the beginning of June for a trip at the end of June but I'm worried I'll miss out on the best bargains. Advice?
thereuare Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet please start by reading your messages.Rates, and their fluctuations, are date specific and based upon how expected supply/demand (new reservations and cancellations) come in relative to actual supply/demand. Sometimes rates are best well in advance of your stay... other times they are best just a week or two before. However, it's a moot point since if your plans are not firm you can't/shouldn't do anything until you're able to commit to a non-refundable purchase.Let us know if/when your dates are firm and we'll take a look at what is available at that time. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
