Priceline Hotel: Need Help-Tampa, near Fairgrounds

Hi-I need some help in securing a room for one night in Tampa, near the Fairgrounds on November 4. Would that be Tampa East? Also, what hotels are in the area, and what can I expect in regard to rating? Unfamiliar with the Tampa area, so any and all replies are appreciated. Thank you.

If you look at Priceline's map there is a zone Tampa East-Fairgrounds. I don't know what your plans are, so is this zone small enough that you would be comfortable receiving a hotel anywhere within the shaded region?

Oh my goodness! I just did a little research on the hotels in that area, and they seem to be pretty dumpy! We are going over for a concert at the fairgrounds, and not being familiar with the area, thought we'd stay close by. That doesn't seem to be a very good idea. So now I guess we will try to get a pretty decent place-at least a 3*, even if we have to drive a bit. We are coming from the Cocoa Beach area of Florida

There has been a Hilton Garden Inn reported at the 2.5* level, and most are usually happy with them as many of them are fairly new, but of course there could be others as well.

What is your maximum bid?

We have stayed twice at the Hilton Garden Inn, Tampa East/ Fairgrounds, and it is a very nice hotel in a very pleasant setting. We got it at $37 per night both times, but each time, we had to wait until about 2 weeks before the date of the stay before the bid at that price was accepted

Wound up using military discount thru one of our travelers. So we did not have to use Priceline.
