Balou77 Posted April 10, 2013 Author Report Posted April 10, 2013 Right now there is a 3.5-star Hotel in Midtown East for $271:Indoor pool(s)Fitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessTennis NearbyRecommended: In 85% of Hotwire customer reviewsThis is probably the ONE UN Plaza, do you agree?I found another one: 3-star Hotel in Midtown Central for $272Free InternetFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)High-Speed Internet AccessAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showerRecommended: In 85% of Hotwire customer reviewsAny idea which one that could be? The Holiday Inn on 57th?And a third one:4-star Hotel in Empire State Building for $274.Free InternetPet friendlyFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessRecommended: In 85% of Hotwire customer reviewsBut honestly that is not really a price range I am comfortable with as I will not be sharing the room. In addition I will be leaving from Grand Central and like the neighborhood, so I would prefer staying in Midtown East. But that seems not really affordable right now. Do you think Priceline could be an option? Thank you very much for your help.
thereuare Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 But honestly that is not really a price range I am comfortable with...It can take quite a bit of time to research hotels if they have not yet been identified before, so if these are out of your current budget and not a consideration for purchase then it's not useful to research these at the moment (and if your budget changes later these might not be the hotels offered at that time)PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper then PRICELINE so it's certainly worth a try... but often not that much cheaper. Given you have 4*, 3.5*, and 3* hotels listed above what star rating would you want to try for first and what would be your maximum bid at that star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Balou77 Posted April 11, 2013 Author Report Posted April 11, 2013 Thanks again for your valuable input!I was thinking about what I would like to see during my stay. I will spend most of the time downtown and in Brooklyn therefore I will consider the distance to Grand Central and rather stay in walking distance to the sites I want to see. As backup hotel I booked the Hampton Inn Seaport for $230 plus tax per night (cancelable until 24 hours prior to arrival). Looking at Hotwire right now there is a 3.5-star Hotel in Downtown - SoHo - Financial District for $197. Pet friendlyFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterRecommended in 95% of Hotwire customer reviews.Any idea which hotel that could be?
thereuare Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 Please note from our Support Page that we are an affiliate of all the Hilton brands (which includes the Hampton Inn) as well as most other major hotel chains and online booking agencies... please check for and use the links there for your hotel direct purchases whenever possible. My best guess for this Downtown property would be the Wyndham Garden Chinatown. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Balou77 Posted April 18, 2013 Author Report Posted April 18, 2013 Thanks for letting me know that, I wasn't aware of that. I just had another look at HOTWIRE and now there is a 3.5-star Hotel in Downtown - SoHo - Financial District for $222Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showerRecommended In 85% of Hotwire customer reviewsAny idea which hotel that could be?Thanks again for all the help!
AaronJB Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 That 3.5* has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd guess an upgraded Hilton Garden Inn Tribeca or Holiday Inn Soho.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
