Srfrankie Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 Placed bid for a four star in Downtown pittburgh $113 and won... Not too shabby. I tied at $97, but they price wouldn't accept it. They gave me a second chance at $113.00, I thought it was strange, since you usually have to change locations or number of stars, but it's still a ggod price. Good luck
yellowdog Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding and congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your result with the board! They gave me a second chance at $113.00, I thought it was strange, this is called a "counter offer", it's an indication that you're (most of the times) close to win. Don't take the offer, use your free zones (if you have any) and just raise your bid with a few dollars. If there's a big diffrence between your bid and the counter offer is a good rule to bid 1/4 of the counter offer to start with. We all have diffrent ways to approach this but you'll get the hang of it after a few times.Enjoy your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
