dhanks34 Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 Not new to Priceline, but new to this forum. We would like a 3.5* hotel in downtown Cincinnati for one night, 4/27. I started at about $50 and over the course of a couple of days have bid up to $81 using all rebid zones. Given what others have won, this is higher than I expected. Do you have any suggestions? What max bid do you believe is reasonable for the downtown area?
AaronJB Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. Rates can vary substantially from day-to-day, but unfortunately this looks like a particularly busy night. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Would consider a 3* but the stated avg price for this area was actually higher?? Would also consider 3.5* N Ky riverfront, but they also seemed higher. Given your experience, do you think $90 is even likely?
AaronJB Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 $90 is worth trying, but unfortunately does not have a strong chance of being accepted, given the rates I'm seeing.HOTWIRE does have a 2.5* boutique with suite and a number of other amenities for $83 - the detail page is showing a 4/5 tripadvisor rating.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

The only 2.5 boutique hotel downtown I see shows up at $97.Thanks for your help!
yellowdog Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 dhanks34Welcome to the board :) No, there's no special code to get a lower rate. I'm also getting the lower $83 rate on my standard search for 2 adults. How many rooms/adults/children do you search for? dhanks34 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Report Posted May 11, 2013 The unanticipated higher cost of rooms caused us to drop our plan for lodging. Maybe next time. Thanks for all suggestions.
