rmstar Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Hello:This is my first post here. Glad to have discovered this site. We have planned a San Diego vacation between 5/25 until the 1st of June. From my search, I see that the rates become cheaper starting the 27th due to 25th being labor day weekend. So do you think it would be wise to split the booking, like one from 25th-27th and the other from 27th until 1st June to get the best rate? I am looking at 4 star or 3.5 star hotels mainly in the Mission Bay/Downtown Harbor island/Point Loma Shelter island. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay and please confirm all acceptable zone/s.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
rmstar Posted April 2, 2013 Author Report Posted April 2, 2013 Oops sorry, should have added that info. Budget would be around $100 + tax extra and would like to stay in close proximity to Sea World and the Zoo and preferably walking distance to the beach or at least some view of the ocean! Zones preferred would be, in the order of preference, (12) Mission Bay; (17) Point Loma - Shelter Island - Old Town; (3) Downtown - Harbor island; (6) Gaslamp Quarter - Convention center. Thanks for your help, appreciate it very much!
yellowdog Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 rmstarIt looks doable with your budget. You might not get a 4* but i would try to bid for the complete stay before starting to split the stay.Start bidding at the lower side and work your way up. And i would not wait since this stay include labor day weekend. It might not be a "big" travel weekend but San Diego is a popular destination. Also take a look at HOTWIRE for your dates. they have some options in your preferred zones.Let us know if you have any further questions. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
