cjeet2007 Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Hi, I am new to this site. I am looking for a 5* hotel in Vegas Strip, from 4/12 through 4/15. My budget is around $120.I started bidding from $80 and increased it to $140. No success.Could you please help? Thanks!
AaronJB Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. Are you interested in both Strip North and Strip South?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
cjeet2007 Posted April 1, 2013 Author Report Posted April 1, 2013 My first preference is Aria or Bellagio - so South. I would be happy if I get Venetian too.
yellowdog Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 cjeet2007You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE You have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) you select. If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive. Are you OK with bidding or do you want to go with HOTWIRE ?My budget is around $120. I started bidding from $80 and increased it to $140. No success. So what would your "new" budget be if going with PRICELINE?Yellowdog.
cjeet2007 Posted April 1, 2013 Author Report Posted April 1, 2013 Thanks for the explanation. I would like to have a better pricing as I do not see any cheaper options on Hotwire. The cheapest I am able to see is $160 - North Strip. Does this mean that I might have to increase my bid to 150/160 to get a deal on priceline? Also, if I choose to go with Hotwire, could you please let me know what hotel this would be?5-star Hotel in The Strip - North90% RecommendedThis Hotel features the following amenities: Spa Services Resort Free Parking Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Kitchenette
yellowdog Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Best guess for the Stip North hotel would be Trump Tower (they don't have any casino)Looking at the prices in North/South would i guess that you're pretty close to hit. I think it would take arround $150-160 in North or South zone. You can use HOTWIRE to get a feeling for the price. But lowest price on HOTWIRE isn't equal with what you must bid on PRICELINE.Let us know if you have any additional questions before you start. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
