mdeofglss Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 Really could use help bidding this time...have had several successful PRICELINE wins using the links on this site, but this time I'm stuck.Looking to stay in Houston from 5/2 to 5/6 of this year. Starting bidding at $62, went all the way up to $92 by waiting 24 hrs (never did the rebid zones before and was afraid to mess it up lol). Still no luck even at $92 for EITHER zone, and I've seen similar wins on here in the $70 to $80 range.Any advice??? Thanks in advance!! :)
thereuare Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 Welcome (offiically) to BetterBidding!...have had several successful PRICELINE wins using the links on this site...Thanks for using the PRICELINE links on the board for your bidding, but it would also be appreciated if you started to share your wins with the board too so that the information can help others, just as you have been helped by those who have posted before you. What if another user has already bid for and won a hotel for your dates above but like yourself never posted their wins. ;)Looking to stay in Houston from 5/2 to 5/6 of this year... Still no luck even at $92 for EITHER zone, and I've seen similar wins on here in the $70 to $80 range.Rates are date specific and rates for these dates are quite high... most 4* hotels i'm seeing are priced at $350+. The JW Marriott is priced at 'just' $189/nite and this is significantly cheaper then anything else i'm seeing at the 4* level for your dates. As this rate is refundable up until April 30 or May 1 depending upon which room type you book, i would take this and then continue to try PRICELINE / HOTWIRE in the days/weeks ahead... unless you're not willing to pay this much for a 4* and would rather lower your star rating.Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
mdeofglss Posted March 31, 2013 Author Report Posted March 31, 2013 Thanks for your help! I went ahead and booked the JW Marriott for $189/night for four nights as a back-up. I will keep bidding and update if I get a better deal :)

mdeofglss Posted May 19, 2013 Author Report Posted May 19, 2013 I wanted to follow up my post. I ended up lowering my star level to a 3* and won on the first try with a $65 bid in the Houston Hobby zone. I actually got upgraded to a 3.5* hotel, so my final win was this:Congratulations, we've upgraded your hotel quality level to a 3½ star hotel. Your price of $65 was accepted by Marriott Houston Hobby Airport.Check-In: Thu, May 2, 2013 / After 03:00 PMCheck-Out: Mon, May 6, 2013 / 12:00 PMRooms: 1 room / 4 nightsThanks for all of your help!!! Do I need to change the title of the thread to reflect the win? Do I need to do anything else?
