Hotwire Hotel: Help with San Juan Dec 2005

I am looking for a good deal in San Juan on 12/09/05, one night pre-cruise. I see this listed on Hotwire, and cannot match it to the hotel list..does anyone know what it might be?

2.5* Near Beach, Casino, Restaurant(s), Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s). Best Value!

$63 per room

per night

Also, we have never stayed in San Juan, so any info or help on whether it is better to go with the higher star level? We don't necessarily need a Resort, but don't want a "dump" either! :)

I have read here (great site-glad I found it!) that the room inventory is likely to be released closer to the date, but I see that the Radisson is already sold out per their web site, so I am not sure I should wait too long! Ideas for a cancellable back up?

Thanks!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

This is a match for the Diamond Palace Hotel and Casino so that would be our best guess.... reviews are not that good :)

Unfortuanately San Juan is often expensive and the level of service is often not 'up to par' with what most are accustomed to receiving when paying these prices.

In light of the above comments, i think you will have to pay more for some place that most would consider 'nice'. What is your maximum budget?

The Wyndham seems to be available thru Hotwire for $141 or you can book cancellable back-ups at either the HOLIDAY INN for $159/nite or the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS for $119... these second two options give you the ability to continue to monitor Hotwire or try Priceline (if you want to try Priceline we can suggest a strategy to try)

At the Holiday Inn website links above make sure you choose the 'flexible rates' or that the rate you choose is cancellable.

:) Thanks Thereuare

I went to the Wyndham site and was able to get a cancellable booking for $135 plus taxes & fees for a total of $164.70 which is available to AAA or AARP members. I will continue to watch Hotwire...and maybe bid on PL if it looks likely to do better when it gets close.

Thanks for your help - this is a great site :)
