joycee Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 Unsuccessfully, I tried numerous bids on Priceline for 4 Stars and 3.5 (bidding up to $120 including tax), then 3 star (bidding up to $105 including tax) using the method discussed on this board and had been unsuccessful for the last two weeks. I used all areas in the San Jose area except San Jose and San Jose South. I have been watching the Express Deals and using the prices there as my baseline for my Name Your Own Price Bids. I noticed that most hotels in the area were booked when trying to book directly with the hotel websites or the prices were $$$$. So I finally took the $88 3 star Express Deal assuming it was the Hyatt Place Fremont or La Quinta since the amenties matched (Free Breakfast, Free Parking, Internet, pool, business center, fitness center) and guest score of 7.0. There was also a bed choice option. Well, it says it rated 7.0 out of 10 or higher guest score...unfortunately, that's not what most of the recent reviews on Tripadvisor say. I will try to remember to post a review after my stay but I'm a little worried after reading the reviews.
yellowdog Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding and congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your result with the board! Also thanx for the addition for this new property to the BetterBidding Priceline Hotel ListSometimes is just hard to get a good deal. Feel free to ask for help at any time. I always take the TA reviews with a grain of salt. And keep in mind with TA reviews that many of those people paid full price, which is often significantly more, and may have different expectations at those price points.Enjoy your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
joycee Posted March 29, 2013 Author Report Posted March 29, 2013 Thanks! Your website is great and I am thankful for all the tips. Do you think you will start to cover PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals? Yes, you are probably right about TA, since I tend to only comment on bad experiences and not write reviews when I have positive stays unless something extraordinary is to be shared.
thereuare Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 We are already keeping track of the PRICELINE EXPRESS offers and working on the backend systems in order to determine the best way to incorporate and display this information along with the other features of the site (such as the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins, Priceline Maps, etc) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
