cheme Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 How do I go about knowing how low to bid on a hotel? What are the star ratings, as in - what hotels fall in what categories. I wouldn't think a 3* in NYC would be the same as a 3* in Oklahoma City, etc. I tried last night to bid through here on Priceline and kept getting that there were no hotels and I had to change my parameters, but I don't want to change my dates/location.Help, please!Carolyn
AaronJB Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)First, what would be your desired budget per night, desired star rating and which zone/s would be acceptable?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Romelle Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 What are the star ratings, as in - what hotels fall in what categories. If you use the menu up in the right hand corner and pull down "I want to ....see hotel lists", it will walk you through to where there is a list of New York hotels members have reported to this board as successful PRICELINE bids. It is organized by city and zone, and then star level. Regarding whether hotels have the same star rating in Oklahoma as in New York, they all fall under the same PRICELINE criteria so a hotel with the same features and amenities would get the same star level in either location. However, small towns often just don't have hotels fancy enough to get those 4 and 5 star ratings. And there are lots of regional differences drive by competition and local needs and who knows what else. Romelle
