veganyes Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Howdy, think 80/90 CAD will win a priceline.com for 4* downtown Toronto South? Thanks!Does HOTWIRE do name your price too? Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet please start by reading your messages. There is no bidding on HOTWIRE... they show you the price and a few details about the hotel (but not the name) and you decide if you want to purchase it or not. For more on the similarities, and differences, between the two services see this I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire before. If you'd like help with an upcoming stay please let us know the dates of your stay in US Dollars as well as the dates of your stay and we'll have a look. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. veganyes Posted June 30, 2013 Author Report Posted June 30, 2013 Thanks! By the way, under Hotwire it says: -hotels won and bidding help. I just tried PRICELINE name your price for Downtown Toronto South, and couldn't win with anything from 80 - 100 (4*), so taking a break. Right now HOTWIRE is 115 for a downtown Toronto east (4*)I'll use the forum links. Do they help me get a better chance at a deal? I didn't use it before, just remembered this site. Thanks!
thereuare Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 ... as the dates of your stay...What dates are you bidding for? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
thereuare Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Somewhere in the $90 area is in the right ballpark, although i could see it possibly costing as much as $110-$120. However, when bidding 4* in Toronto you have lots of re-bid zones so we can start low and gradually increase the bid.Are you ready to start bidding now? What do you want to use as a maximum bid? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. veganyes Posted July 1, 2013 Author Report Posted July 1, 2013 90-110 would be good, ideally the former! Ready, yes, as I tried already as per above, but stopped at $100. I always had to restart, as it wouldn't let me increase my bid $ without adding a zone or hotel rating. 4*, downtown south is what I am looking. Well maybe 3.5 or 3 would be okay looking at the selection... then presumably I could get away with as cheap as 70? Is getting a second bed usually no extra charge, or is that at the discretion of the hotel upon arrival?Does the link help get a better deal? I'll use it since you're helping, just wondering!
thereuare Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Using our links helps get your bid accepted in the sense that we will continue to help with your hotel stay... but on PRICELINE's end it neither hurts nor helps your actual acceptance. Are you familiar with re-bidding as that will enable you to make multiple bids at the 4* level all within the same 24 hour bidding cycle. If not, see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, but if you're new to the concept it's highly recommended that you ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones before bidding again.I don't think $70 will be enough for a 3.5* or 3*... as your 4* bid at $100 was rejected, what are you basing the acceptance of a 3* or 3.5* at $70 on?Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
