Shannon7 Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 I am planning a trip to Vegas for April 1-3. Only about a week away. I have been checking prices for a while now. I want to stay at around $50-$60 for a 4* on the strip. (Planet Hollywood, New York New York, Mirage) They are all around $70 if you just want to book them right now, which isn't bad but I would like to try to name my price, starting at $50 to see if I can get a good hotel. My only worry is if I do this I will get a bad 4* like the Flamingo. Any advice?
thereuare Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! The Flamingo is currently 3.5* rated so currently that would not be a possibility when bidding 4* on PRICELINE.The caveats to be aware of in this zone is the Westin which is in the Strip South Vicinity zone but is actually a little off-strip. It's walkable and do-able, but not the ideal or first choice of most users... and Monte Carlo which some consider to be on the lower end of the 4* scale. Are both of these acceptable outcomes? Also, is only the Strip South zone acceptable or did you also want to bid the Strip North zone?Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Shannon7 Posted March 24, 2013 Author Report Posted March 24, 2013 I'll do north or south strip, doesn't matter to me. My ideal hotels would be Paris, New York New York, Planet Hollywood, Mirage, Caesar's, or TI. The more upscale 4*.
Shannon7 Posted March 24, 2013 Author Report Posted March 24, 2013 I would not be happy with the Westin outcome, and Monte Carlo would be okay.
AaronJB Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 There is no way to avoid a particular property or properties - if you bid for a particular star rating and zone, you have to be willing to accept any property at that star rating in that zone.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 There is no way to avoid a particular property or properties - if you bid for a particular star rating and zone, you have to be willing to accept any property at that star rating in that zone.Since you can't avoid or target any hotels in the zone, and not all of the 'known' hotels in the Strip South zone are acceptable... do you want to try bidding for a 4* hotel in the Strip North zone; although this zone can often be a little more expensive then the Strip South zone.I will also add that i see what i believe to be the Tropicana for $53/nite when searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children for your dates:Resort Free Parking Free Internet Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Golf Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... is this HOTWIRE offer of any interest? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
