New to his priceline thing. I see priceline has upto 2 adults field, does that mean if we are faily of 4 , I have to pay extra? Also, what is your suggestion for selection of hotel areas in Paris center? I prefer hotels close to major attractions. Thanks.

PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy/1 bed. If you are a party of four, there is a definite chance you may end up with one bed. HOTWIRE, where you can indicate four people, is a better option for a party of four. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?

I'm in the same situation... Travel with two little ones... So guess i have to either get 2 rooms or mark for 4 people... else some of us will be sleeping on the floor.. no??

I prefer hotels close to major attractions.

The "major attractions" are in a lot of different areas in Paris, and your "must sees" may be different from other people's. You might try searching on something like "Paris tourist top 10". From the responses find one with the attractions more appealing to you that has a map. Compare this to the PRICELINE zone map to determine the zones you want to bid. You can zoom in on the PRICELINE zone map to get a better look.

Paris is organized into 20 "Arrondissments" or districts, with #1 being right in the center and then the rest of them in a coil around it. With districts 1-10 you are pretty much central, and even the next 20 are still fairly central.

This map will give you a good idea of both the districts and it has a lot of major tourist things noted.

When the prices got way beyond my budget, I actually bid and won a hotel in the La Defense area. It is about as far out as you can get in the bidding areas, and completely outside the 20 districts. Even that had one major attraction, and the metro system is fine enough we were able to easily get to all the others we wanted to see.
