kikehisy Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 This is my first post here - thought I would report that Hotwire appears to have changed star ratings for two SF hotels. The Whitcomb just switched from 3.5* (as listed at this site) to 3*. I had been following it and noticed the switch. I booked it today with the following:3-star Hotel in Civic Center South - Hayes ValleyThis Hotel features the following amenities:Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Also, I got the Hotel Bijou as a 2.5* as opposed to its listing here as 2*2.5-star hotel in Union Square West - Nob HillAmenitiesBoutique Hotel High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blindAccessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-roomaccessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
AaronJB Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Congrats on your success.Nice wins for these properties and thank you for sharing your results. Thank you for letting us know about both changes so that we can update the site's Hotwire Hotel List. Please post the Bijou win as a separate thread, and it would be greatly appreciated if you could also post the price per night (in USD$, before taxes/fees) and dates of travel so that we can update the site's Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
kikehisy Posted March 26, 2013 Author Report Posted March 26, 2013 The Whitcomb was $94/night for 4/11 to 4/13. That doesn't seem like a particularly good rate for the Whitcomb compared to other things I've seen on here, and it had been $85 a week earlier but I waited too long. All the hotels seem to have high rates for those days.
yellowdog Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 kikehisyThanx for the follow-up :) Yes, San Francisco can be hard sometimes. There might be something going on during your dates, it's busy town when it comes to conference and events. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
