skidoo Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 just wanted to share : a way to not loose TOO MUCH in case of deceiving results with hotwire, just start with 1 nite, and if satisfied, book the missing days.that's what i do, kind of "paying to see". Lost 70 bucks on hotel (1), but i thought it was another hotel.hotel 2 has a casino, thus it's wyndham ...Here are results for Nassau (2 cheapest hotels) : 1) Nassau Palm Resort & Conference Center : Near Beach, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Golf Nearby. $55 per room per night2) Wyndham Nassau Resort and Crystal Palace Casino : Resort, Beachfront, Casino, Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, Children's Activity Program, Business Center. $75 per room per night / beware > there's $15 pp pd extra fee for resort/energy/maid ! (still 20% cheaper total cost than elsewhere)
thereuare Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Can you please include the date(s) of your stay... i'm assuming you actually purchased both of the above hotels? What were the star ratings of each? skidoo Posted September 5, 2005 Author Report Posted September 5, 2005 date purschased for Nassau Palm Resort & Conference Center : 1 nite only 10/15 / $71.95 > stars : 2.5 dates for wyndham : october 9 thru 16 / $593.95 > stars : 3if first hotel would have been another one (orange hill for example), i would have purchased, in a second purchase, dates of 10/9 thru 10/15 (6 nites). Bad luck on this one, and lost 70 dollars (not going to use that nite at all !).On the other hand, when you addup hotwire fees difference when you "cut" your trip like this, it's about 20 bucks. So in the first scenario, if it would have been Orange Hill (a reputable and good hotel in Nasau / opposed to disgusting Nassau Palm), i would have lost only about 20 bucks, and minimizing substantialy the risk of putting all your money in a looser bet. It's like gambling and playing poker : you pay to see ... but less than what hotwire would like you to...Overall, saved almost 20% compared to Hotels.com and even more compared to Expedia or Travelocity. So i'm happy.
thereuare Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Both of these were available in our HOTWIRE HOTEL LIST for this area, exactly as described, so you could have saved yourself the $70 by checking the lists before your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
