goldenbear1980 Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Hi, that's really a deal, but I saw some pretty negative posting on tripadvisor about the hotel recently. in fact one of the guest booked the room using priceline and had to call them to complain about the room condition after changing a few times, and got $50 refund for the first night. I wonder if booking using priceline at such low price would means given a less desirable room by the hotel? Has anyone ever experience the difference in room due to booking via priceline name your price?thanks and rgds
AaronJB Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 PRICELINE bids guarantee a regular/non-upgraded room. I haven't read the details of the tripadvisor review, but if there are significant issues with the room, then ask the hotel. If that does not work, then ask PRICELINE.Please start a new thread with the details of your stay if you need assistance.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 I have often mentioned that the room at this property vary greatly from one to the next. I have friends who booked here (conventionally) a few years ago and they had a poor room (and didn't like the room they were switched too either) while friends who booked on their same reservation received a nice room from the start and had no issues at all. If my friend had booked thru any 'opaque' source (PRICELINE, HOTWIRE, etc) it would be very easy to blame the booking source as a scapegoat for the poor quality room he had. There are so many variables that go into room assignment that any time a poor room is received it's easy to blame the booking source, when in reality it could happen regardless of how the room is booked. With this noted there are some hotels that do assign customers who book thru 3rd party websites to lesser quality rooms, but this practice is more the exception to the rule and not standards practice.goldenbear1980, if you'd like help with an upcoming trip please read your messages and then start a NEW TOPIC with the dates and other details of your travel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks.
