I need help in identifying this hotel bid

4 star hotel in chelsea, $215.00 per room, per night

amenities :

Fitness Center

Business Center

High-Speed Internet Access

from the lsit my best guess would be the

4* Hotel Indigo (previously 3.5*)

but some amenities are missing

Unfortunately a property with this amenity set has not yet been reported to the board and the amenities are quite common for a NYC hotel that i'm not able to gain too much insight into this one.

The Hotel Indigo would certainly be one possibility, but i think the Doubletree Times Square South (previously the Wyndham) would be a possibility as well, and given how common these amenities are, there are likely a few other possibilities as well.

What is your maximum budget per nite for this stay?

Ideal budget would have been around 200USD with breakfast but I understand it is NYC and it is better to pay a little more and have good stay than try to hard on saving

(btw I have a modifiable res at 330USD BB in a 5 star but with an non ideal location)

I prefer Chelsea to Midtown as it is quieter and to my mind a nicer part of Manhattan esp 42nd st. (or used to be)

Assuming we've guessed correctly, both hotels generally get good reviews, but the location of the Flatiron Hotel is substantially better. The ONE UN New York is located very far east and the walk to the subway can be up to 15 minutes... the Flatiron hotel will have you within 5 blocks of three different subway stations (each with different routes/lines running thru them so you have more options of not needing to make a transfer depending upon where you are heading).

I'm seeing the 4* Chelsea, which would likely be the Ramada Plaza New Yorker.

I'm seeing the 4* MTE for a significantly higher rate, as well as more amenities than what you have listed above. If you click "see details" and then click 'see all amenities', do you see additional amenities beyond the ones noted above?

I just relaunched my request and the MTE appears now as 3.5 star which would be consistent with the One UN

sometimes Hotwire behavior is weird..

I would say something convenient and family friendly, comfortable and...relatively inexpensive!!

which seems to be a challenge in NYC

I now regret not having followed thereuare advice faster but I thought that adding breakfast to the check made a relatively small difference with the Conrad I have blocked.

My boys are 7 and 10. Maybe I should not reserve for 4 ?

I just found a 3.5 star hotel in Soho 205USD but no amenities mentionnned??

Just so that we know a comparable rate level, what is the price per night of the Conrad that you have booked (in USD$, before taxes/fees?)

Breakfast is a nice added value, but if not included it's fun in NYC to go and try different local restaurants.

Moderator thereuare will likely be able to offer breakfast suggestions that may come in under $80.

If you are a party of four, in NYC, I'd indicate four or there's a strong possibility that you'll be stuck with one bed. Some hotels in NYC may also have max occupancy issues.

There's also some cost and time savings if you stay in Midtown vs Downtown, as well.

Unfortunately, if there aren't any amenities showing with a listing, there is really no way to begin to narrow down what it may be.

You could spend that if you wanted to but there is no reason to... plenty of bagel shops where your family can eat well for well under $25, deli counter places that serve the 'on the go' business community and offer freshly made eggs on a roll and coffee for $2-$3, pancake plates for $4, etc. (no waitress service but many locations have upstairs/downstairs seating where you can take your food to eat).

I wouldn't risk booking double occupancy in NYC when you will actually be four guests.

However, the 3.5* in Chelse-MSG is back (searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children) and currently offered for your dates for $210/nite (Boutique, Restaurant, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible).

There is also a 4* in Chelsea-MSG for $218/nite with (Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Roll-in Shower)... my guess for this one would be the Doubletree NYC-Chelsea.

Which hotel would you recommend Flat Iron or Double Tree (if it is these two)? If i look at TA, the former is definitely the winner ?

or should I splurege and go for the 3.5-star Hotel in Empire State Building, 269USD, 100% recommendation

A guess for the 3.5* ESB property would be the The Dylan, and personally i wouldn't spend the extra $50/nite for it... while it does have a 100% user recommendation from HOTWIRE, it has a 3.5/5.0 TA rating which i would hope for better given the percent recommended from HOTWIRE users (and only 10+ reviews so not enough data to make an informed decision, imo).

As far as the other two properties it's a toss up... the Doubletree is a chain hotel whereas the Flatiron Hotel is independently owned (i believe)... the former may have a bit more structure of the way things are done while the latter may be hit or miss in terms of some things falling a little below your expectations and other aspects going beyond your expectations.

4-star Hotel in Chelsea - Madison Square Garden at 218USD which seems to attract major interest (27 bookings). My guess is, it is the New Yorker. Is it worth the 8 extra bucks?

PS- don't worry about how many people have previously purchased in the last 24 hours. I wouldn't let that be part of your buying decision, and although we haven't researched if further, i think that may be the number of rooms bought at that star level and in that zone... not the specific hotel that is being offered.

I'm not seeing this listing when searching for four people only two, but I really wouldn't recommend staying in Central Park East. This listing hasn't been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd guess the Bentley may be a possibility.
