James9394 Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 Hi, we are looking at going to Rome at the end of September (roughly Sept 27 - Oct4) and will likely want to stay in the "Coliseum - Termini Station" area. I cannot find any previous winning bids and wondering what we should expect to pay at that time of year. If pricing between 5* and 4* are are similar, we would like 5*. Thanks!

There can you find your activity for the last 2 years. The board need to know your firm dates for Rome in order to help you. Rates for hotels are date sensitive and could varies greatly if you change a day or two in your search. And hotels/prices offered now may not be the ones available once you're ready to commit. You can allways look at HOTWIRE to get a "feeling" for the price when using diffrent set of dates. If your dates are flexible is there a chance that you can find a set of dates that are cheaper if you move arround arrival/departure. thereuare Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel in this zone for $132 but is showing no 5* hotels. My guess from other research is that currently a 5* hotel will cost you quite a bit more in this same zone. It's not clear if your dates are firm and you're looking to start now, but if so, i would consider how much more you're willing to pay for a 5* vs. a 4*, add that amount to the $132 PRICELINE EXPRESS rate, and use that as your upper limit for a 5* hotel (ie- if a 5* is worth $40 more per nite to you then your upper limit for a 5* hotel would be $172/nite)Let us know if/when you're ready to begin bidding and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. James9394 Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 Hi, so I spoke to the boss and Sept 27 - Oct 4 are the dates we wish to use and a 4* hotel is fine. We would like to find a hotel in the "Spanish Steps - Trevi Fountain" area instead. Thanks again!
