hopeland Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 Trying to find a deal for 3/26 for one night with no luck.Tried Union Square East+Union Square West +SOMA/Moscone + Financial District/Embarcadero 4*.Bid all the way up to $230 with no takers and no counter-offers.Backup bid at Nikko for $269. By far the least expensive 4*. Most are $300+ and even most 3* are $200+.Best Hotwire deal is $289, also for the Nikko.Considering the Kabuki for $215. It looks nice but just not as convenient.
thereuare Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 Unfortunately this looks like a tough, and expensive, nite in the area.Have you considered a lower star rating OR could you stay as far as Fisherman's Wharf? (where prices seem a little less extreme)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
hopeland Posted March 18, 2013 Author Report Posted March 18, 2013 Thank you for the help. I tried the same search again today with exactly the same results. But a Priceline Express Deal for a 4* SOMA - Moscone appeared today for $248. Listed amenities: Free Internet, Restaurant.Though the 7.0 user rating gave me pause, I decided to take a gamble. With the SPRING promotional code, price came to $235.Turned out to be the Hotel Zetta San Francisco. I had read about this one. It's a brand new modern hotel that looks to be like what the Clift was when it first opened. Early reviews have been mixed with the common thread that this property is not quite ready for prime time, but that the location and decor are outstanding. When I arrive, it will have been open for more than a month, so hopefully some of those initial kinks will have been ironed out by then. I'm actually looking forward to this. After all, it's just for an overnight, and given the choices I was faced with, this is about as good as I can hope for.BTW, I did use BiddingHelper.com.com - as I always do.You may want to change the thread title now, but I don't know how you want to handle Express Deal reports now.
AaronJB Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Congratulations on your success! Very nice deal for this newer property, and glad you are looking forward to your stay at this new property. Thank you for letting us know about this new PRICELINE property so that we can update the site's Priceline Hotel List. This was previously the Hotel Milano; before/after pictures look as if it was a very nice renovation of the existing property.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
