wildcatksu Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 Cheaper the better since most time won't be spent at the hotel. 10 miles or shorter drive would be appreciated. Thanks,Robin
AaronJB Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 For the above stay, on the PRICELINE zone selection screen that shows a map of the zones in the area, which ones would be acceptable (you would be willing to stay *anywhere* within the selected zone/s.)Thank you for for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Romelle Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 As near as I can tell, the hospital is in the "Market Center - DAL Love Field" Priceline zone. If you zoom WAY in on the "Detail Map" for that zone you can see it. I'd urge you to verify it for yourself. The zone is not particularly large. If you got a hotel in the furthest corner, you would be about 4 miles from the hospital. The adjacent zones around it are between 5 and 10 miles away, so maybe some of those could also serve? If you aren't local, be warned the traffic can be faster and more aggressive than anything to which you might be accustomed. If you look at the List of Hotels, right at the beginning of this Priceline - Texas area, you can see which hotels other members have reported receiving via bidding.Romelle
wildcatksu Posted March 17, 2013 Author Report Posted March 17, 2013 Thanks--that helps. It was kind of what I thought but needed a second eye. Your help was appreciated. I will verify appt tomorrow and then try PRICELINE. If that doesn't work there seems to be decent prices at HOTWIRE. Never used Priceline before so I thought this would be a good chance for a one night stay with just two of us. Not much of a risk taker.Robin
Romelle Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 The experts here can often provide one with an "educated guess" as to what HOTWIRE hotel you might get if you post back with the specifics - date, $$, and all amenities. While the PRICELINE EXPRESS feature is newer, there sometimes has been enough history reported here to do the same thing.Admittedly there is a little more risk with PRICELINE bidding, but there can be more savings. While it is the most risky of the three alternatives, it really isn't that risky. Think of it more like a fun surprise!RomellePS - do provide the follow-up in that prior request. Member reporting is how the body of information gets built for the educated guessing, and it helps other members with their bidding.
