Tried the Union Square East and West first, but due to a large conference at the Hilton in that area, decided to try Financial District instead. After a failed $110 bid in the area, Priceline counteroffered with $138. I decided to add 3.5* hotel option instead, knowing there are none in the area, and bid up to $120 which was accepted.

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you were upgraded on your 3.5* bid to the 4* hotel class you were originally bidding.

Note that if you went straight from 4* at $110 --> 3.5* at $120 it's usually not recommended to lower your bid and raise your star rating at the same time, as explained in this Priceline Bidding Tips thread. It was a moot point since you were upgraded to the 4* level, but this information may be helpful for your future bidding.
