twinkles0819 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Hi there....I am going to be vacationing on October 7th thru the 11th.I have already bid up to $40 for a *3 in the Disney world vicinity, Kissimmee, and winter park.I'd prefer to stay as close to WDW as possible, that's why I have not included Universal area.I already looked on hotwire and there is a *3 for disney maingate for $47 a night, if I cannot get below that on priceline, I will reserve with hotwire but I would like to save as much as I can, as disney can get expensive :) Any suggestions???

thereuare Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 You actually have 5 re-bid zones when bidding 3* in this area (you have only used two), why not just continue your bidding in the WDW zone...$42$44$46If you need help figuring out or comfirming your re-bid zones please read PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and then feel free to ask questions.Do keep in a mind that a 3* on Hotwire may not be equal to a 3* on Priceline. twinkles0819 Posted September 3, 2005 Author Report Posted September 3, 2005 Went up to $46 with no luck....I am going to try again in 72hrs since it is still a little over a month till I go. My next question is...Should I start with the same numbers (Start from $40) or should I go up from my last rejected bid of $46Thanks
thereuare Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 To play devil's advocate, what will happen if the 3* on Hotwire suddenly disappears or becomes much more expenisve?I'm not saying that you should take it, but have you at least tried to identify it to know if it is equal to a Priceline 3* or even a hotel you would like to stay at?This should be your next step, imo. What are the amenties associated with the property? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
twinkles0819 Posted September 4, 2005 Author Report Posted September 4, 2005 I was thinking about just taking the $47/night room from hotwire, I have been trying to match it on the hotel list and don't think I have an exact matchup.its for 10/7 thru 10/11Disney Maingate $47Restaurant(s), Pool(s), fitness center, golf nearby, laundry (self service)any help would be appreciated.
thereuare Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Unfortunately this hotel has not yet been identified... do keep in mind that it may be what you would otherwise consider to be a 2.5* property. twinkles0819 Posted September 14, 2005 Author Report Posted September 14, 2005 I have never had this happen to me but I was wondering what would happen if the hotel you reserved was in a different location than you wanted to stay in the first place. For example, if you wanted to stay in the theater district in NYC reserved a hotel on hotwire that said it was in the theater district but then received a hotel that was clearly out of that area...what could be done about it?I have tried my friends to try hotwire and priceline but they are afraid things like the situation I posted above would happen and you would be stuck with a hotel you didn't want. Can anyone shed any light on this
thereuare Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Your 'agreement' with the suppliers is that they will give you a room within the shaded area that defines the zone. If a hotel is discovered to be outside of the shaded region (note that this can sometimes be misleading based upon the name of the zone, so always check the zone boundaries) then they have violated their side of the agreement and you should be entitled a refund (but first you have to get them to listen and admit a mistake :) )When this has happened in the past the user has often been given the option of cancelling with a full refund or keeping the reservation along with some 'hotwire dollars' to use on a future purchase.
