loyolavacation Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 Hi, I'm looking for two rooms or a condo/suite thing in which there are two bedrooms. Our dates are May 10-15th. We would love to get a resort or a 3.5-4 star hotel. I do not want anything too far from disney world, so I guess my only locations are: Downtown Disney or Maingate-Celebration. I'm not quite sure about how much to bid. Our max would be 45/night per room. Do you think that our goals are too unreasonable? Could you help me with a bidding strategy?
thereuare Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!I don't think you have much of a chance at a 4* or Resort but you might have a chance at a 3.5* property. You can certainly try for a higher rated hotel first but i think that your chances for a 4* or better at $45 or less are low. (if you want to try for a higher star level first you could just substitute the appropriate star level in the strategy above... if you get to the end and are rejected, close the current browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE, and repeat at the next desired star level)When bidding 3.5* in Orlando you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Maingate and Downtown Disney...Bid $33, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $38, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $43, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. loyolavacation Posted March 27, 2013 Author Report Posted March 27, 2013 We decided on doing 4 days in the Disney parks and one day at universal. So we booked the all star music for the first three nights, using Orbitz's 15% off coupon and used Priceline to bid on the last two nights. We won the Radisson on international drive for $35/night, and used a $5/night coupon that I received from Priceline. So the total cost of the room was 40/night. Our offer was accepted on the first try, which makes me think I could have gotten a better deal. :/ but overall we're happy! Thanks for your help!
