mmmmcq Posted March 8, 2013 Author Report Posted March 8, 2013 Thank you for your reply!I am aiming to cap the total per night at $150 for both 4* and 5*. As well, I am looking for hotels in Westminster and Mayfair/Soho area only.
thereuare Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 I am aiming to cap the total per night at $150 for both 4* and 5*.Are you willing to pay more for a 5* vs. 4* OR is the goal the least expensive 4* or better for this trip?Assuming you are willing to pay more for a 5* (as your previous bidding appears to indicate) how much more is a 5* worth an 4 star? Did you want to go up to your $150 limit for a 5* before trying for a 4* or is a 5* only worth $xx dollars more to you vs. a 4*?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. mmmmcq Posted March 11, 2013 Author Report Posted March 11, 2013 I was originally thinking of a 4* in London, but then saw some posts of people getting 5* around $100 so that's why I decided to give 5* a try.If I can't get a 5* around $150, my goal would be to get the least expensive 4* as that would work out better for my trip. Thanks for your help.
vanpoodle Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 I've made a few posts about London as it is one of my favourite cities to visit and PRICELINE has been excellent for it. I would encourage you to consider a couple of the other zones if price is most important to you. Bloomsbury is also very central. I have had my best PRICELINE deals slightly further out in Notting Hill and North London/Regent's Park and those are still very close to the heart of the city. There are many zones in London, some are a ways out, but the three I suggest might give you a better chance of scoring a great deal while being in the thick of things.
thereuare Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 mmmmcq,Given vanpoodle's comments are there any other zone(s) you want to include in your bidding or do you want to only stick with Mayfair-Soho and Westminster for now? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know and we'll advise accordingly.
