KellJ Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 Hello. Looking for bidding help, NYC arriving 4/11/13 and departing 4/14/13.2 rooms, three adults3.5* or higher in DT/Wall Street. Would love to zero in on Club Quarters there or WTC, and they do appear to have rooms available now. Someone posted here a great deal thru HOTWIRE for two of these nights at CQ, $101 at WTC one night and $112 at Wall Street the other night, but that's no longer available. I just found a "PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal" of $146/night for a 3.5* in DT/Financial, with restaurant, fitness center, business center and "bed choice."I'm willing also to look at Chelsea or Lower East Side.Hoping to pay <$125/room per night.Would appreciate your bidding advice. (I'm familiar with the free bid zone strategy.)Thanks!KellJ
AaronJB Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 Just to confirm, are there 3 adults total, or 3 in each room?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 I just found a "PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal" of $146/night for a 3.5* in DT/Financial, with restaurant, fitness center, business center and "bed choice.... and are you still seeing this deal offered as i'm not seeing any 3.5* hotel offered in this zone for your dates, and the current rates that i am seeing it appears that $125 for a 3.5* or better would not be a high probability bet. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. KellJ Posted March 11, 2013 Author Report Posted March 11, 2013 Hello, yes,it appears that deal is gone and the prices spiked for Club Quarters. Also found that airfares went up. Lesson learned: strike right away or change your plans.... :-(Thanks. I'll post a query when we've settled on a weekend, probably in May.KellJ
thereuare Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Note that May is historically an expensive time in NYC... if you're willing to travel during the summer rates are substantially cheaper (but it can get very hot and humid on any given set of dates)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on when your plans firm up.
