Freefalling
I booked this same hotel for 3/26 thru 3/29 for $65 using your PRICELINE link. I won it on my first bid (didn't think I'd get it any cheaper), which makes me think I could've gotten it for less. After I won it gave me the option to extend more nights at the same rate, and I did actually want to stay a few more nights in Chicago. I decided to see if I could rebid a few more nights at a lower price, so I tried 3/29-3/31 for the same star level/area for $60 and I won it on my first bid at the same hotel (if it didn't accept my bid, I was just going to extend more nights @ $65). Very pleased with my win (although I probably could've gotten 3/29-3/31 for $5/nt cheaper). This will be my 2nd time visiting Chicago and I am very excited to go again :) Link to comment

purplelotus
Two reasonably priced breakfast suggestions: 1) Corner Bakery restaurant on the southwest corner of Michigan and Wacker and 2) Pittsfield Cafe in Building at 55 E. Washington. This is a bit of a walk, but it's a classic Chicago coffee shop. Been there for years. If you like Chinese food, you can take the red line (state Street) to Chinatown for lunch or dinner. AaronJB
I'll second all three recommendations above. Right by the hotel, I've also heard good things about Wildberry Pancakes & Cafe for breakfast. Link to comment
Freefalling
Awesome, I will definitely check those out. Also, I know it's more of a vegas thing, but do you think the $20 trick could work here for a room upgrade/better view? Link to comment
AaronJB
It's worth a try. Worst thing they could say is no. A river view looking West offering Michigan Ave. views or a river view looking East (Navy Pier/partial lake view likely) - either way would be a good option. Link to comment
Alex in MI
An interesting (and delicious) alternative for breakfast (or lunch, if you're still in the hotel then) is Hannah's Bretzel. You don't even have to go outside to get there; the Hyatt Regency and that branch of Hannah's (open M-F) are part of the Chicago Pedway System. The concierge or front desk can direct you there. Canada2012
I stayed here last summer in July. Huge Hotel. Rooms were so nice, clean, and the beds comfy. The staff at the front desk are great. Being that it is more of a Convention Attendees type hotel I didn't know what to expect. Awesome place. Steps away from Mag Mile. Enjoy! They had put a card with toffee and two bottles of Evian Water on the desk in the room when we had checked into the room. Link to comment
